Jamia Millia Islamia has played a pivotal role in early childhood education, establishing the Jamia Nursery School in 1955 under the leadership of Ms. Mushir Fatma and Ms. Jamal Fatima. Following a structured Montessori approach, the school was founded to bridge the gap between home and formal schooling. The Gerda Philipsborn Day Care Centre, named after a German educationist, was later introduced within the nursery school to provide young children with a stimulating and hygienic environment. With experienced teachers, educational toys, nutritious meals, and a focus on holistic development, the center operates as a self-financed institution from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday).

JMI Gerda Philipsborn Day Care Centre Admission

The Gerda Philipsborn Day Care Centre at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) provides a safe and nurturing environment for children of university staff and students. Named after Gerda Philipsborn, a dedicated social worker and educator, the center focuses on early childhood care, cognitive development, and social skills. Timing of the day care centre is 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday). This is a self- financing institution and the fees structure is as follows:

1. Admission Fees: Rs. 5000/- non-refundable (Payable at the time of admission)
2. Annual Fees: Rs. 2000/- non-refundable (Payable at the time of admission)
3. Monthly Fees: Rs. 8000/- (For Jamia Staff only & Payable every month including vacation & breaks)
4. Monthly Fees: Rs. 10000/- (For Non-Jamia Staff & Payable every month including vacation & breaks)

How to Apply for JMI School Admission 2025-26?

1. Apply online at JMI’s official website.
2. Pay the application fee via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking only.
3. Application Fee is non-refundable except for failed transactions identified by JMI.
4. Read and follow all instructions carefully during form submission.
5. The online form submission consists of two phases: Registration (basic details) and Entrance Application Submission (class selection, category, and ₹500 fee payment).
6. A valid email ID and mobile number are required.
7. Candidates must upload a recent passport-size photograph (50 KB – 100 KB, JPG/JPEG, white background) and soft copies of their and their guardian’s signature (50 KB – 100 KB, JPG/JPEG).
8. Before payment, candidates can correct details except Name and Date of Birth. No corrections are allowed after fee payment.
9. After submission, a unique Registration Number and Password will be sent via email for further login.
10. Candidates can apply for additional classes and streams after registration.
11. The Entrance Test fee must be paid online using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
12. If applying through a cyber café, ensure the form is filled in your presence and use your contact details.
13. No need to send a hard copy of the application to JMI. However, candidates should print and keep a copy of the Registration Slip for future reference.
14. Candidates must retain a Xerox copy of their admit card, as the original must be submitted at the test center.
15. Carry a passport-size recent photograph along with the admit card to the test center.
16. A Common Entrance Test is conducted for Classes IX and XI across all three Senior Secondary Schools of JMI, and for Class VI at Syed Abid Husain Sr. Sec. School (Self-financed). Admission is based on merit in the entrance test.
17. Candidates scoring less than 33% in the entrance test will not be eligible for admission.
18. The Entrance Test for Classes VI, IX, and XI will be conducted in Delhi/NCR, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, and Srinagar. If fewer than 50 applicants choose a city, the test will be held in Delhi, and candidates will be notified via admit card.
19. Only one application form should be submitted for admission, indicating school preferences.
20. Candidates must choose only one category for admission consideration (Refer to Section 4.2).
21. Candidates awaiting results may apply, but they must submit proof of qualification and other required documents by the final admission deadline.

For admission to Nursery, Prep, and Class 1, the birth certificate must be issued by the Gram Panchayat (attested by BDO/Tehsildar) or by the Town Area Municipal Board/Corporation. This applies only to Nursery and Prep. A birth certificate from the previous school is also accepted for Class I.
